We've been running a series titles A Look under the Hood, where AME members answer various sensible and seriously silly questions. Now we're inviting you to pose your own questions... either post them here, or send a PM to one of the AME members. Our answers will be published in the next instalment...

Part V (https://ame-gda.andarian.net/forums/index.php?topic=308.0.html)
I have a question/suggestion. A lot of us in the community have kids. Id like to see a Best Kid Friendly module.
I have a question for the next part of A look under the Hood:
How much of your time AME is taking? Do you still find time to put your creative minds to module making?
The question is important to me because I have considered to join AME but I have my first module coming and I wouldn't want it to be utterly delayded. Which reminds me of another question:
Can AME members' modules be nominated?
Thanks for the questions - please keep them coming....
Answers will come shortly...
My question is: How did your significant others react when you told them that it was super important that you play a whole bunch of games; and it's really really important, cause the community needs this. ;D

Ohhh. That's a good one.
That IS a good one!
Was there anything within the works of the finalist to inspire the creative panal to include into their own works?
When you found bugs that didn't break the module, but were jarring; did you report them to the author? I know there were a lot of modules to test, was it a matter of just getting through as may as you could? A secondary question would be did you vote on any of the modules you played or did you establish a policy against that?

Figured I'd answer this one now. Yes we can vote on modules we played. If you mean if we were a playtester, then no, that would be a conflict of interest. We really can't vote on a module unless we've played it.
Next question: ;D How does everyone feel about Tybae's firey, mysterious, totally rad avatar? ;D
hmmmm, another question: NWN is six years old. NWN2 makes advances on the original, but what do you feel will be the next generation of buildable D&D RPGs, or will it ever happen?
(If you want me to stop, just let me know.)
next: Is there any one module that is just so good that you compare all other modules against it? And is there any one module so bad that it sets a standard as well? If you feel like taking the fifth on this one so as not to upset anyone; I think that's reasonable.
edit: I'm working on semicolon usage, does it show?
Lol ! It's great to be getting questions. I'll put the next bunch in fornt of the panel very soon so you can start seeing some answers.
Ok, here's a couple more; for future if you like: Do you have a favorite character you like to test with when a module does not have character requirements?
2: There are a number of individuals in this community that have achieved a bit of a name for themselves. You all work with some of them and play a lot of modules by others. Is there anyone that has really risen even higher in your estimation since doing these awards.
3: Since I have been working on modules, I have met a few people in this community that I feel are now good friends and important to me in my life even though I have never met them. Is there anyone that you have met through this process that you feel the same way about?
4: NWN is an RPG D&D based computer game. The question is: Do you publicly admit to being a geek, or do you hide it from friends, family and co-workers?
Oooh - another good one there!

I'm not quite sure about it myself. I guess OMH is not the only Final Fantasy fan.

*chuckling* Couldn't resist Tybae. I'm on kind of a roll today. I get like that when I really hate my job. sigh. . . Although I bet you're beginning to regret leading me to this thread, huh? ;)
Quite a rush of new questions! I'll try to set some time aside tonight to write up and post some answers. :)
Final Fantasy?...I thought he was doing a David Bowie imitation. heh heh ;D

Could be, but you forget that I was actually young when David Bowie was cool. ;)
Oh I thought of another question...
Did anyone get Ben some new shoes?
Unfortunately not!
The following questions have now been thrust in front of the panel to see if we can shock them back into life!
• How much of your time AME is taking? Do you still find time to put your creative minds to module making?
• How did your significant others react when you told them that it was super important that you play a whole bunch of games?
• Was there anything within the works of the finalist to inspire the creative panel to include into their own works?
• When you found bugs that didn't break the module, but were jarring; did you report them to the author?
• NWN is six years old. NWN2 makes advances on the original, but what do you feel will be the next generation of buildable D&D RPGs, or will it ever happen?
• Is there any one module that is just so good that you compare all other modules against it? And is there any one module so bad that it sets a standard as well?
• Do you have a favorite character you like to test with when a module does not have character requirements?
• There are a number of individuals in this community that have achieved a bit of a name for themselves. Is there anyone that has really risen even higher in your estimation since doing these awards.
• Since I have been working on modules, I have met a few people in this community that I feel are now good friends and important to me in my life even though I have never met them. Is there anyone that you have met through this process that you feel the same way about?
• NWN is an RPG D&D based computer game. The question is: Do you publicly admit to being a geek, or do you hide it from friends, family and co-workers?
A question that came up which I can answer straight out:
Can AME members' modules be nominated?
Yes they can, but we have a fairly comprehensive system to prevent a conflict of interest. First, members are required to pre-announce all work they have been involved in in any way during the award year, then a judgement is made over conflicts. Pretty much any kind of official involvement is regarded as a conflict of interest. The member cannot nominate any of these works, and if they are nominated by someone else, then that member can no longer take any part whatsoever in that category.
As you can imagine, we have some talented people in the panel, so this is not unheard of. We've had plenty of opportunities to test it in the last 2 years!
Ah, all the new questions conveniently collected together! Let me see what I can do in the way of writing up some answers:
EDIT: Whoops -- sorry, jumped the gun there! Look for my answers in with those of the other members in the next installment of "AME - Under the Hood." ;)
thanks for the mentions! ;D
and it's great to be a geek and proud!! I think even if i tried to hide it, it'd be pretty obvious to most people farily quickly!
The answers to the first 3 questions are now posted as Part IV (https://ame-gda.andarian.net/forums/index.php?topic=295.0.html) of 'a Look under the Hood' series...
More questions are welcome!
Part V (https://ame-gda.andarian.net/forums/index.php?topic=308.0.html) is now up, answering some of kookoo's questions...
I thought of one that's completely off topic.
Are there any "hidden talents" or hobbies you have that others may not know about?
Hey Ben,
The second part of my answer for #3 is a cut and paste mistake, it's actually my answer to question #2. :o
We need to remove;
It's hard to imagine another gaming community having the same solidarity found in the NWN 1&2 world. I may be biased, but I feel strongly that if another generation of game modification arises successfully, it will be here among the passionate builders and adventures that have proven just how unique our community is.
If you would please, kind sir. ;D
Sorry about that...
