Title: off topic: Where I'm at
Post by: kookoo on July 29, 2008, 08:02:26 PM
I posted this on another forum, but thought the people here might like it as well.

Do you know the guy who is treading water in the middle of the ocean? His ship has sunk and now there are sharks circling and dark clouds in the skies. However, there is also a rescue helicopter coming his way in the distance.

That's where I'm at.

However. . .

Most people wait to see if they get eaten by the sharks or rescued depending upon whether God or the Devil is the director of the scene.

This is where it sucks to be me. . .

I always think there are so many other options. . .

You could just stop treading water and slowly and dramatically sink into the ocean.

You could swim over to one of the sharks and hop onto it's back, riding it to the nearest island where native women wave large peacock fans to keep you cool and feed you fruit. You have to be a real badass to pull that one off though.

You could swim over to the sharks and let them eat you, realizing that they have a right to food and it's cruel to just tease them by treading water like that.

Or when the helicopter gets there, you can pull the first rescuer into the water for the sharks to eat and escape that way.

You could take over the helicopter and use its net to gather the sharks together and fly them over the nearest island dropping them on the native women and their peacock fans.

Or you could just gather all your super powers together and fly out of there, saving yourself. Most people don't realize exactly how powerful they truly are.

Or you could do what I'm doing. Just continue to tread water waiting to see what everyone else does for a while. The clouds are magnificent right now and it's amazing how powerful and immense the ocean is.

That's where I'm at right now.

EDIT: The native women on the island option is sounding really nice right about now though. . .

I'd just get a couple of Sea Turtles, lash them together and make a raft.  ;)

aha, and with girls hair like your avatars, you won't need to to pluck any off your back ;P

I however would simply walk on water to that island and start snacking on all the fruit whilst batting all the male attentions away with a deft flick of my hair (thinking Hidden Kingdom, strange blonde babe with never ending whip like hair) But then, threading on water is easy for me...I am almost like a god..being a dragon AND immortal :P

hrm...I suppose the sharks will be scare of me because Chinese like shark's fins!!!  :o (Actually that's not my cup of tea)...

If QSW is over there, I can simply climb onto her back and let her deal with them  :P

I don't like shark fin soup either. I don't even like oysters or lutefisk. In fact, the only things I seem to have a penchant for these days are whisky and cigars. That probably means I've become a crotchety old man.  >:( And scantilly clad women on beaches, of course!  ;D So I'd probably demand that they (helicopter crew) put me down on that beach.

Cheers! :)

(Now you know why I always end my posts with that. Whisky!)

Get the sharks drunk first and set them as guards for the whisky on the island.  Limited time offer:  The island babes have a brewery imported from Kentucky on the island.

The island women are actually interchangeble with hot young native men for those that prefer such things.

P.S. I just realized the sharks are my teenage daughter and her friends.  I'm suddenly afraid.  .  .

P.S.S.  Speaking of interchangeable men and women, has anyone ever noticed that all the women in playboy all have the exact same pair of breasts?  Do they just have them hanging on the wall in the photo studio or something?  Hmmm.  .  .

Methinks you don't find a whole lot of scantily clad women in the Norse countries.  ;)  Which may be the reason for the Cigars and Whiskey listed first.  Hehe.  I do like Whiskey too, Scotch to be specific.  Single Highland Malts.  MacAllan 18 is my favorite, but it's expensive.

We carry that in the casino where I work.  Personally, I like Baily's coffee and Smirnoff Ice.  I haven't actually been drunk since I was 20, which is impressive considering the drinking age is 21.

*adds a couple of mountains with cool spring water to the island as well as a guy in a skirt with a bottle of scotch just for Tybae.  Figure the guy in the skirt will need the scotch after meeting him ;) *

Hang on, shouldn't Playboy have pictures of hunky guys with beefcakes....or is that 12 packs? In fact, 12 packs of what? Beer? And the beefcakes, are they super rare or medium? (personally, I like my meat well cooked)

I gave up on the 12 packs and went for the whole keg.  Damn you BEER!  Why do you have to taste so good!

Must be a small tree if a Wyrmling can strip it down.  ;)

I had noticed that you like to tease people and I think you need to realize that these forums are only for serious discussions.  Humor has no place here.  and maybe the dragon in the picture has been mislabeled and misunderstood by society.  Had you ever considered that?

OK, you got me. It's a picture of Hobsyllwin, (The White Guardian).

It's a painting by Ciruelo, IMHO the the artist with the best renditions of dragons.

Judge for your self. click here (http://www.dac-editions.com/gallery.htm)

That is a lovely picture of a dragon, but as the effervescent Tybae says, it is a white dragon. (Handsome devil though!)

This however IS QSW, and the itsy bitsy fellow is i think (as a special appearance, one time only show) Tybae...just cos we silver dragons know how to entertain....one lump or two? :P

I wish Chet! No, It was commissioned by a lovely NWN player (and one time AME member) for me. The artist is on DeviantArt and called Dragarta (http://dragarta.deviantart.com/). There are quite a few artists on that site who do amazing fantasy paintings/drawings; and Dragons certainly are abundant there!
