The first level comment had to do with The Spire of Malice. I think I was at least 10th level for the other one. Thanks for letting me know about PJ's comment - I'll check it out. I tried them because I can't get the third chapter of the Wizard's apprentice to load in my puter lol!

I haven't played any of them, but were you level 10+ when you played The Church of Stone?

There's a comment by PJ on that module's page, so maybe he can help you.

Has anybody played, or tried to play, either The Church of Stone or The Spire of Malice? I was so excited to see so many new campaigns being released and I don't know if it's just me, but I just don't get it. There is no way to survive - annihilation seems to be this author's favorite word! You start at level one and then get "annihilated" every 10 seconds. Can anybody explain what the point is of these mods and has anybody actually been able to  finish either of them? I started The Church of Stone but it's really hard to figure out what the hell is going on (you have to do this, then that in the correct order to do the next thing, which doesn't work the way it's supposed to). And the graphics make it very difficult to see and move around in some areas. I only lasted about an hour before giving up. Then tonight I started The Spire of Malice and quickly realized it was the same author since the storekeeper (a "friendly" lich) was the same. I lasted about 2 hours before quitting since  it was impossible to survive, especially for a first level wizard!

General Discussion / Adventure Building Challenge
Last post by Henesua - March 05, 2013, 12:55:26 PM

The Adventure Building Challenge needs you!

Module builders completed the February cycle, and now we are ready for players to play and review them. Please visit the February thread on the BSN forums, play some of the entries, and let the builder know what you think. The best place to make comments on challenge entries is in February's thread.

"What?"

OK let me back up a bit. At the end of January, I saw a need for something like a game jam for NWN modders, a short cycle that would encourage a builder to conceive and finish a module rather than just talk about the epic work sitting on their hard drive (which describes what I do pretty well). So I looked at the Custom Content Challenge, and decided to start a similar challenge for module builders. That is what we did in February.

Twelve people talked about what they planned to do, and six completed their works. A vast improvement over the same number talking about their module, and yet maybe none producing anything.

Some of the works are rough, as they should be. They now need some reviewers to play them and give the builders feedback. That is also part of the plan. Following the builder cycle, I have been encouraging a cycle of playing and review, and for the module builders to continue to develop their works in response to the comments.

Who better to provide feedback than members of the AME? I hope this gets your attention, and that some (or all) of you come out to play and review.

I'll do that, and thanks for the update.

Ok, so news from Bannor's girlfriend.  Bannor had a wound on his leg that wasn't healing.  He's a diabetic, so wounds heal slower for him anyways.  The doctors ended up treating him for gout, which he never had.  He had some tests done and it turned out he had only 5% bloodflow to his leg.  He had a 95% blockage of bloodflow behind his knee.  He had an angioplasty and 3 stents put in and the artery still collapsed.  They ended up doing an 8 hour surgery to bypass the artery almost down the entire leg.  He's in recovery now, but he's still losing blood.  It may be an ulcer that is bleeding.  He is not out of the woods yet.  He could still lose his leg, but it's way too early to tell.  Keep him in your hopes and/or prayers for now.

Apparently he had a couple of stents put in and almost lost his leg.  That's really all I know.  I have reached out to some other friends to find out if they know anything.  I'll keep you all updated.

Also, Winterhawk, also a friend, went to visit him in the hospital.  I haven't heard from him yet, but when I do, I'll make sure to keep you all informed.

General Discussion / Get Well Soon Bannor Bloodfist
Last post by Tybae - August 11, 2012, 06:58:13 PM
I just heard literally 5 minutes ago that Bannor Bloodfist, a good friend of the AME and a friend of mine, is recovering from major surgery.  I don't know any other details yet, but I'll make sure to update this thread as soon as I find anything out.

I enjoyed 1 a lot but not so much 2, I don't know why I just could not get into it.

You have whetted my appetite for 3, though if I buy it. It would be the first new game in years.

Thanks for reviewing for us.
