Of course, not sure what that says about me since I've worked for them for 35 years or so.  *slightly manic look in her eyes*

Nah, it's self punishment because if you're going to go through that, you're going to do it to yourself.  Oprah calls that empowerment.

Whew!  What a relief to know that, Ty!

It's actually based on a real model that gets used a lot in the computer industry (on budget, on spec, on time - but you can't get all 3). Too true though. I was recently developing a similar only slightly tongue-in-cheek model for my reports to get them to understand the choices they make for their career paths in the company I work for: fun, seniority, longterm career - but you can't have all 3. For some reason everyone always sacrifices fun.
