Adam Miller speaks…

Adventure AwardVeteran AwardAdam Miller, Veteran Author Golden Dragonh winner, was a familiar name in the Neverwinter Nights 1 community for many years, but with the advent of NWN2, he was one of the first ‘established’ authors to make the move. We found out about the challenges he faced and the inspiration behind Dark Waters, which picked up the Best Adventure Golden Dragon award for NWN2. You can read the interview here.

In other news, A look under the Hood is back, with the AME panel answering some of the weirder questions we’ve been asked in the last few weeks…!

We have the latest in the Golden Dragon interview series up today…

Action Award Hugie won his second Golden Dragon award, this time for NWN2, with Moonshadows. We find out more on the module, what Hugie’s plans are now, and what happened to chapter II: read on.

Adventure AwardReplayable awardCitadel picked up to Golden Dragon awards, for Best Adventure and Most Replayable module. Today we talk to the team behind Citadel, find out how they got together, and about some of the more unusual inspirations behind the module: read on.

AMe LogoWe recently ran a poll on NWVault on which Golden Dragon interests people the most. We got some pretty interesting results – not necessarily matching what authors or panel members might like to win. Here’s the results from the poll on the Vault:

1. Best Roleplaying Module
2. Best Adventure Module
3. Best Custom Content
4. Most Replayable Module
5. Best Multiplayer Module
6. Best Tileset
7. Best PnP Conversion
8. Community Contribution
9. Debut Author
10. Best Action Module
11. Veteran Author
12. Best Sound/Music

Perhaps it’s not surprising that for the general community most of the module awards come top, but there are definitely a few surprises in there. If you didn’t get a chance to have your say (or you simply want to say it again), why not check out the poll here on the forums of AME? Or just post your comments there…

Multiplayer Mayhem!

Today we have two new Golden Dragon winner interviews, this time the Best Multiplayer award winners for NWN and NWN2.

Multiplayer AwardTomb of Horrors is a devilishly difficult module based on the old PnP classic that really comes into its own in multiplayer mode, where strong thinking and team play will see you succeed… or fall. We catch up with the authors of the module as they talk about ToH, Purgatorio and other NWN2 projects. Read on!

Multiplayer AwardWe also catch up with Wes and Andre Landaker, winners of the Best Multiplayer award for NWN with Time becomes a Loop. They tell us why they designed a causal looping module and what was the inspiration behind it. Read on!

Golden Dragon Interviews!

We have two new Golden Dragon interviews today, one for NWN1 and one for NWN2.

Debut Author AwardLance Botelle won the Debut Author award with his first serious module contribution Soul Shaker. NWN is an old game, but Soul Shaker brings a great deal of innovation and a new play style to the game, as well as more traditional module elements. We find out what inspired Lance to build it and what he would have done differently if he could do it again.

RP AwardDark Avenger took the 2007 Golden Dragon award for Best Roleplay module, because roleplaying is really central to the concept behind this superb module. Find out a bit more about why you get to define your role, your character and your background, as well as what Wyrin thinks about the Golden Dragon awards.

NWN2 patch 1.13 is out

Title says it all really! You can get a bit more detail here on the Vault’s page regarding the patch…

This weekend, we should also have for you some more interviews with this year’s Golden Dragon Award winners, so don’t forget to check back.
